Le Vietnam attache de l’importance à ses relations d’amitié traditionnelle avec l’Égypte, dont celles entre les deux États, deux Parlements, deux gouvernements et deux peuples. C'est ce qu'a affirmé le président vietnamien Trân Dai Quang, lors d’une entrevue, le 27 août au Caire, avec le président de la Chambre des représentants de l’Égypte, Ali Abdel Aal.
