People of Muong ethnic in the northern province of Hoa Binh have a beautiful tradition of wrapping glutinous rice cakes called “banh ong” and “banh chung” during festive times. During new year or festival celebration, a Muong ethnic family usually gathers in their stilt home to make the cakes together. As family members cook and eat banh ong and banh chung, the familial bonds between them deepen, their tradition strengthen and continues in the next generation. VNA Photo: Trọng Đạt
