The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap switched to other crops on some 9,000ha of rice fields this year. The area saw corn, watermelon, red chili, lotus, and other high-value crops and aquatic species rotated with rice. The conversion is aimed at increasing the value of crops and improving the efficiency of land use, thus increasing farmers’ incomes. VNA Photo: Nguyễn Văn Trí
