An Bang Island Lighthouse is not only a landmark for ships at night but also a milestone of Vietnam's maritime sovereignty over the islands. Located in the southern part of the Spratly Islands, An Bang Island plays a crucial role as a bridge connecting the islands in the Spratly Islands group with the oil and gas areas located on the southern continental shelf of the country. The An Bang Lighthouse is responsible for assisting ships in the designated sea area to determine the position of An Bang Island, thereby providing direction and determining their own position and route. The An Bang Lighthouse tower is 24.9 metres high, with a focal height of 22.2 metres, flashing a white light in a group of 2, with a 10-second cycle, and an effective range of 15 nautical miles.
