President Luong Cuong and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi on September 2 afternoon for their attendance at a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and their working visit to China.

The Vietnamese Party official expressed concern over the protracted conflict and its humanitarian impact in Gaza, urging the parties concerned to soon reach a ceasefire agreement and work towards a sustainable, long-term solution.

Việt Nam and Cuba vowed to jointly promote and deepen bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, and investment, particularly in strategic and high-potential sectors. They called on relevant agencies of both countries to enhance exchanges and coordination to address existing challenges and obstacles, and to make the most of the Việt Nam–Cuba Trade Agreement to increase trade volume and diversify bilateral trade.

The delegations also toured the outdoor exhibition staged by the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security, themed “The sword and the shield.”

This is President Lương Cường's first official visit to China in his capacity as Head of State. It also coincides with the year 2025 being designated as the Year of People-to-People Exchange, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Việt Nam and China (January 18, 1950–2025).

President Díaz-Canel praised Việt Nam's recent socio-economic and diplomatic achievements, expressing his deep impression at the heroic atmosphere, the broad public participation in the celebration, and the warm welcome extended to the Cuban delegation.

The top Vietnamese legislator stressed that the Lao delegation’s presence was vivid evidence of the special Việt Nam–Laos solidarity.

General Secretary Tô Lâm welcomed the Lao Party and State leader for leading a high-ranking delegation to the celebration, describing it as a testament to the rare, loyal, and special solidarity between the two Parties and nations.

The Cuban leader stressed the importance of frequent high-level exchanges in strengthening the special Việt Nam–Cuba relations. He emphasised Cuba’s wish to deepen the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Việt Nam, and voiced his hope for the sharing of experience in Việt Nam's renewal cause and Cuba's update of its socio-economic model.

Hun Sen expressed his joy and honour to attend the celebration and highly appreciated the significance of the 80th anniversary of Việt Nam's National Day, demonstrating the strength of national unity in the long-term resistance wars against foreign invaders, gaining national independence and being a source of inspiration for the movement to gain independence from colonial rule of oppressed peoples in the region and the world.
