The training course also holds special significance as this is the first time UNITAR, Canada, and Việt Nam have co-organised an in-depth training programme on gender military advising for UN peacekeeping operations, with the participation of officers from many countries in the region and around the world along with UN experts and lecturers.

Việt Nam and Brunei have always maintained close and friendly relations since the establishment of their diplomatic ties, and have especially strengthened cooperation since the upgrade of the ties to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2019.

The two leaders praised Việt Nam-Brunei ties, strengthened since the 2019 comprehensive partnership upgrade, with solid political and diplomatic links, effective cooperation mechanisms and active 2023–2027 action plan implementation.

Party General Secretary Tô Lâm said the visit provides an opportunity for both sides to reaffirm their determination to build a new vision and elevate Việt Nam–Laos relations to a higher level of development, with deeper political trust and new breakthroughs in cooperation across all fields.

The award aims to recognise the Vietnamese Party leader’s significant contributions to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and people of Laos and Việt Nam.

This is part of activities within the Vietnamese Party chief’s two-day state visit to Laos, where he will attend a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Lao National Day and co-chair a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Vietnamese leaders emphasised that over the past five decades, under the sound leadership of the LPRP, the Lao people have overcome numerous challenges, steadfastly safeguarding and building the nation, and achieving significant and historic accomplishments across all fields.

Speaking at the plenary session of the sixth Asia–Europe Political Forum (AEPF) in Budapest, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bùi Lê Thái outlined Việt Nam’s assessments of global developments and their implications for sustainable development, along with the mounting challenges facing multilateral cooperation.

The upgrade of the bilateral relationship to the Comprehensive Partnership represents an extremely important step, marking a transformation in both quantity and quality of the bilateral ties.

During his two-day stay in the neighbouring country, the leader will also attend the 50th National Day celebrations of Laos and co-chair a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPDR), General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Tô Lâm wrote an article titled "50 years of the Lao People's Democratic Republic: Mettle, Wisdom, and Achievements bearing the Imprint of the Times".

Talking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Laos on the occasion of the Vietnamese Party leader’s two-day visit starting on Monday, Phandanouvong said the trip not only aims to continue implementing recent cooperation agreements between the two Parties and states, but also carries profound political and historical significance for further fostering the bilateral relations.

The purpose of the resolution is to fully and promptly institutionalise the Party and State’s viewpoints and orientations on land policy.

As scheduled, they will attend the 50th National Day celebrations of Laos and the Party leader will co-chairing a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Việt Nam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
