Mentioning the landmark 6th National Party Congress in 1986 with the launch of the “Doi moi” (Renewal) policy, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged pushing ahead with renewal and reform, especially in science – technology, innovation and digital transformation, so as to make greater breakthroughs and enable the country to reach new heights.

Addressing the preparatory session of the first Congress of the Government’s Party Organization on October 12, Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said these achievements came despite unprecedented pandemic, extreme natural disasters, and a volatile global and regional landscape.

Deputy PM Nguyễn Hoà Bình mentioned the streamlining of political system and reorganisation of administrative units as a highlight in the tenure, noting that this has earned high praise from the international community. 

The PM requested that aside from reviewing the outstanding results of the 2020–2025 tenure amid numerous difficulties and challenges, they should point out lessons and shortcomings needing to be addressed. Notably, they should propose breakthrough tasks and measures for successfully implementing the resolution of the coming national congress, thereby ushering in an era of prosperity, civilisation, and happiness for the nation.

The delegation expressed their respect and gratitude for the great contributions of President Hồ Chí Minh – the genius leader of the Communist Party of Việt Nam and the Vietnamese people, and an eminent figure of the international communist and workers’ movements.
