The first Full Moon Festival of the Lunar New Year, annually held in the 15th day of the first lunar month (February 12 this year), is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam. On the day, every Vietnamese family prepare trays of offerings to put on the home altar to worship their ancestors. The offerings include flowers, fruits, betel and areca nuts, and traditional or vegan foods. People, especially Buddhist followers, also visit pagodas to pray for peace, health and prosperity for their families and the country as a whole. VNA Photo: Hoàng Hiếu
