A ceremony was held in Vientiane on December 13 to inaugurate a project upgrading the Lao People's Army History Museum at a cost of 4.6 million USD funded from the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam. With an area of about 17,000sq.m in the capital city's centre, the Lao People's Army History Museum was put into operation in 1976 and has gone through a number of repairs and upgrades.
