“Con Di Danh Bong” (Flirtatious girls playing tom-tom) dance, one of Hanoi’s 10 folk dances, was restaged on the capital city’s Tran Nhan Ton walking street on November 5 within the ongoing Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2023. The unique dance, in which young men wear women’s dresses, have heavy make-up and dance combining girl-resembling gestures and movements, is preserved and performed as a hallmark during the annual festival of Trieu Khuc village (Thanh Xuan district) that takes place from the ninth to the 12th day of the first month of the lunar calendar.
