Vietnam saw 6,340 traffic accidents taking place between December 15, 2020 and June 14, 2021, claiming 3,192 lives and injuring 4,475 people. These figures represented annual decreases of 8.38 percent, 2.74 percent and 11.29 percent, respectively. In the period, 6,278 road accidents (99 percent) killed 3,147 people and left 4,465 injured. Their causes were mainly speeding and driving in the wrong lanes, among others.
