Tra Bong district in the central province of Quang Ngai is among the four key cinnamon planting areas in Vietnam, with Tra Bong cinnamon having been named as Specialty Gifts of Asia by the Asian Record Organisation. The cinnamon planting area covers approximately 5,200 hectares, yielding 1,600-2,000 tonnes annually. Tra Bong cinnamon is classified as one of the "Four Great Medicinal Herbs" due to its extensive use in the pharmaceutical industry, food processing, fragrance production, and animal husbandry.
