Party General Secretary and State President To Lam met with leaders of the Communist Party USA, left-wing organisations in the US and friends of Vietnam on September 22 (local time) in New York as part of his trip to the US to attend the High-level Week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting, jointly organised by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnamese Delegation to the United Nations, saw the participation of delegates from different states across the US. At the meeting, the top leader conferred the Friendship Order to individuals who have made many positive and important contributions to strengthening the relationship between the peoples of the two countries.
