Shopping at traditional markets is a long-standing habit of Vietnamese people and still an indispensable part in their daily life. Offering a wide selection of necessary products for shoppers and serving as a place for people to meet and chat, traditional markets are still going strong, despite the increase of air-conditioned shopping spaces and online shopping as people prefer to get their fresh foods, traditional crafts and household items from open-air spaces. Some items even can be found only at traditional markets such as fresh and hot traditional dishes or herbs for medical purposes.
