Sailing Ship 286-Le Quy Don of the Vietnam Naval Academy left the Nha Trang military port in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on October 4, beginning its journey to Singapore for a friendly visit marking the 50th anniversary of the countries’ diplomatic relations (1973-2023) and 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership (2013-2023). The journey itself is designated as a training session for trainees to practice sea navigation during long-distance voyage, use weapons and equipment, and deal with real-life situations, among other activities. As planned, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Naval Academy Colonel Bui Duy Thong, will visit the Singapore Navy Command; host a party and musical event on board, engage in cultural and sports exchanges with the Singapore Navy, and tour historical and cultural landmarks in Singapore.
