In various communes of Can Tho city, such as Vi Thuy, Vi Thanh 1, Vinh Vien, Luong Tam, and Xa Phien, locals skip a rice growing season in autumn-winter 2025, instead utilising natural floodwaters to farm fishes and aquatic species.
