Pa Khoang reservoir was built in 1974 and went into operation in 1979, situated at 900 metres above sea-level between Muong Phang and Pa Khoang communes in the northern province of Dien Bien. Pa Khoang is the largest reservoir in Dien Bien province, spanning a surface area of 600 hectares and having a storage capacity of 41 cubic metres. Hidden deep within the Muong Phang forest, the reservoir offers visitors impressive natural sceneries, diverse vegetation for exploration, dozens of small islets within the reservoirs that satisfy visitors’ curiosity, and fresh mountainous air.
