Nui Chua World Biosphere Reserve in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan has a total area of more than 106,646 hectares. Its core, Nui Chua National Park, covers 15,752 hectares and consists of three natural areas of forest, sea and semi-desert, including many rich and diverse ecosystems. This unique combination makes it an intriguing destination for visitors, drawing nature enthusiasts from both Vietnam and around the globe. There are three ecosystems in Nui Chua National Park’s marine reserve, including a coral reef ecosystem, a seagrass ecosystem, and a tidal zone ecosystem. The marine reserve within Nui Chua National Park boasts a thriving coral reef ecosystem, hosting an impressive array of biodiversity. This includes 391 coral species from 16 families, two orders, one class, one new genus (Scapophyllia) recorded for the western region of the East Sea and 11 species recorded for the first time in Vietnam.
