Da Nang city and Quang Nam province are coordinating in applying technology in the pilot operation of the two-tier local administration model in six new communes and wards from June 21 to 23, as they will be merged into a new Da Nang city from July 1. Specifically, the model is being tested in Da Nang’s Thanh Khe and Ngu Hanh Son wards and Hoa Vang commune, and Quang Nam’s Tam Ky ward and Dai Loc and Tien Phuoc communes. From July 1, the new Da Nang will have 94 commune-level administrative units, including 23 wards, 70 communes, and one special zone. The restructuring of commune- and ward-level administrative units in the city aims to streamline the administrative apparatus, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, and meet the demands of urban development in the new phase.
