Farmers in some Mekong Delta provinces have begun harvesting the 2023-2024 winter-spring early rice crop, and are getting high yields and prices. The rice granary, which contributes a half of the country's total annual output, had planted nearly 1.5 million hectares for the crop and the average output is estimated at some 7 tonnes per ha.
