The Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau, the largest shrimp producer in Vietnam, is currently home to 19,000 ha of shrimp culture area, in which 16,300 ha is cultivating giant river prawns. Most of the cultivation areas are in the districts of Thoi Binh. Farmers can earn a profit of 15 – 20 million VND (650 - 870 USD).
