Khmer ethnic people in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang is celebrating the Kathina Festival, the biggest Buddhist one in the locality, lasting from the fifteenth day of the ninth month to the fifteenth day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar (October 17-November 15). The ceremony, held solemnly at local pagodas after 3 months of summer retreat, is an opportunity for Buddhist followers to respectfully offer Casa robes, flowers and essential items to the monks.
