An annual festival is held by Hmong people in Vietnam on the day before their new year begins, which include various traditional activities. Among them is the making of glutinous rice cake, where participants cook sticky rice, then take turns pounding them in a hollow wood log with wooden hammers, until the rice become a fine paste of glutinous cake. The glutinous cakes can last a long time, and are served roasted, with honey or cha (Vietnamese sausage) as a delicious specialty of Hmong people in their traditional new year. VNA Photo: Quý Trung
