About 160,000 people visited Hanoi on the New Year holiday on January 1, 2025, up 17% year-on-year. According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the capital city served 28,400 foreign tourists, up 67%, and 132,000 domestic holidaymakers, up 10% year-on-year. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at nearly 594 billion VND (23.3 million USD), a year-on-year surge of 26%, and the average occupancy rate of high-end hotels is about 80%.
