As the Mid-Autumn Festival draws near, Hang Ma street in Hanoi’s Old Quarter comes alive with a vibrant display of color, light and timeless tradition. The Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on October 6 this year, marks a cherished time in Vietnamese culture dedicated to family, children and community. Festivities include illuminated lantern parades, energetic lion dances, and the exchange of mooncakes, which represent unity and prosperity. Since early September, families, young couples, and curious travelers have been flocking to the street to shop for traditional toys and decorations while enjoying the festive and nostalgic ambiance.
