Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien is a humble farmer who produces natural grass straws in Duc Hue district, Long An province. Witnessing wildlife destruction caused by plastic straws, he used co bang (grey sedge), a native grass of Long An province to make grass straws as an alternative to polluting plastic ones. Co bang straws received warm welcome from restaurants and coffee shops nationwide, thus nearly 1.5 million straws have been sold so far. Despite his success, Mr. Tien does not wish for bigger sale, instead he wishes to have a balanced relationship with nature and provide livelihood for local people. VNA Photo: Đức Hạnh
