In the northern province of Hoa Binh, a Muong ethnic’s village lies at the foot of Mo mountain, known as Giang Mo village. From the capital city of Hanoi, driving on Highway 6 for about 86 km, travellers will reach Giang Mo village which nestles under the green of mountains, forests and terraced rice fields. The peaceful village is home to 140 Muong households, whose livelihoods depend mainly on farming. The village’s highlight is old stilt houses shaped like turtles, with main doors facing together.
