A flag-raising ceremony was held at the Tien Son Sports Centre in the central city of Da Nang on June 1 to welcome the participating delegations of the 13th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG 13). Taking place from May 29 to June 9 under the theme “Connect to Shine Bright”, the games attract about 1,300 athletes and coaches from 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). They will compete in 107 events of six sports namely swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball, Pencak Silat, and Vovinam. The competition of the ASG 13 started on May 31 with the first match between the women’s basketball teams of Thailand and Malaysia at the Da Nang University Sports Centre.
