The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) put 96 power transmission projects ranging from 110-500kV into operation in the first 10 months of 2021 despite difficulties brought about by COVID-19. The projects comprise six 500kV, 19 220kV and 71 110kV transmission grids. In October, the group's electricity output reached 20.28 billion kWh, down 0.3 percent year on year, bringing total output in the first 10 months of the year to 212.65 billion kWh, a rise of 3.1 percent over the same period last year. Of the total, hydropower contributed 29.9 percent, coal-fuelled power 47.4 percent, gas-fuelled 10.6 percent and renewable energy 11.3 percent. Electricity imports accounted for 0.6 percent.
