The Dong Van Karst Plateau in the northern province of Tuyen Quang has just been honored by the World Travel Awards (WTA) as the "World's Leading Cultural Destination 2025" for the first time at a recent ceremony held in Bahrain. Recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark in 2010, Dong Van Karst Plateau preserves the Earth's evolutionary history of more than 550 million years. Spanning over 2,350 square kilometres, the geopark features more than 70 percent limestone terrain, with dramatic landscapes of soaring peaks and deep gorges.
