Gia Lai is to complete all remaining houses for residents affected by Typhoon Kalmaegi and its historic floods in 2025 by January 15, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said at a working session on January 12 with the provincial People’s Committee. Gia Lai province suffered severe impacts from Typhoon Kalmaegi and prolonged floods in November 2025, with more than 28,000 houses damaged or destroyed, including 674 houses that collapsed completely and required urgent reconstruction. To date, all houses requiring repairs have been completed, while over 96% of newly built houses are finished. About 23 houses remain under completion, mainly larger, multi-storey homes.
