Farmers in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong have adopted coffee-growing standards from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) to develop the province’s unique specialty coffee. Farmers drop the conventional practices of using chemicals in coffee planting, instead focusing on organic farming practices that help them develop Natural specialty coffee. They also adopt the practice of collecting only ripe coffee fruits to ensure high-quality coffee beans. Farmers and businesses also join hands to process high-standard roasted coffee beans, resulting in the Honey specialty coffee, with its sweet, deep taste. Dak Nong province plans to have 2,000 hectares of specialty coffee that can yield 1,500 tonnes of green beans by 2030. VNA Photo: Vũ Sinh
