After the recent merger of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, Ca Mau is a province with an aquaculture area of about 450,900 hectares, shrimp output continues to lead the country by about 566,000 tons, export turnover reaches about 2.48 billion USD, becoming a place with prime locations for the shrimp production and processing industry. The province plans to spend 20 trillion VND (800 million USD) to promote the development of the shrimp industry with a plan that, by 2030, the province will be the biggest shrimp raising hub in the Mekong River Delta region.
