The parade begins with a torch-relay ceremony, symbolizing the aspirations of the Vietnamese people. The flame was handed over to Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, who had an outstanding achievement in shooting down 6 enemy aircraft, becoming one of the heroic pilots of the Vietnam People's Army.
