The 14th National Party Congress is a historic political event marking a major turning point as Việt Nam enters a new era of national development.

Darsie expressed confidence that the 14th Congress will build on the resolution of the 13th Congress while clearly outlining approaches and solutions to realise the goals set, taking into account rapid and profound global changes during the interval between the two congresses.

The Chinese scholar said that as Việt Nam moves from a “new era” in its national history into a “new era” of the times, the Party Central Committee must outline a clear development roadmap to realise the two centenary goals and steadily advance national modernisation.

Beyond domestic considerations, the congress also holds external and regional significance, sending a clear signal of the role Việt Nam aspires to play in Southeast Asia over the long term.

The Hanoi Declaration builds on the ASEAN leaders’ statement on advancing digital transformation, approved at the 38th ASEAN Summit in 2021.
