This is the first visit to Việt Nam by a President of Guinea-Bissau since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973. The visit aims to lay a foundation for deepening bilateral cooperation across various fields.

Both sides agreed that the Việt Nam-Singapore strategic partnership is increasingly robust and effective across all areas, marked by regular high-level delegation exchanges and flourishing relations between the two ruling parties.

Praising the growing and more substantive ties between the two legislatures, National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyễn Đức Hải noted the facilitation of delegation exchanges at all levels, work experience sharing and exchange programmes between parliamentary committees and friendship groups.
