Over many years serving in various positions in Hà Nội, Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng consistently showed affection, closeness and special concern for the city.

The official said bilateral ties have developed to a new high with deep mutual understanding, adding the relations were set up by President Hồ Chí Minh and Presidents Kaysone Phomevihane and Souphanouvong, and nurtured by generations of leaders of both sides, including Party General Secretary Trọng.

Bilateral trade hit US$790 million last year, doubling that of 2018 and making Colombia Việt Nam’s fifth largest trade partner in Latin America.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella highlighted the great contributions of General Secretary Trọng in promoting relations between Việt Nam and Italy.

Catholics form an important and inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, said the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

Nguyễn Phú Trọng was a model of integrity, dedicated to the country and the people, a dear comrade, a brother and a sincere friend to all.

These include the Law on Capital, the Law on Amendments and Supplements to a Number of Articles of the Land Law, Housing Law and Real Estate Business Law and a Law on Credit Institutions.

"Although comrade Trọng has passed away, the love, true gratitude, and respectable comradeship will forever be in my heart,” the Lao leader said.

The Indian parliament on Monday held a moment of silence before beginning its monsoon session to commemorate General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyễn Phú Trọng, who passed away last Friday.

The ministry has donated more than 110,000 savings books to families, worth over VNĐ403 billion. As many as 2,412 living Vietnamese heroic mothers have received care.
