The UN’s decision to select Hà Nội as the venue sends a strong message of multilateralism in action, said Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) New York Liaison Office Xiaohong Li. 

During the meeting with the Finnish legislator, Party General Secretary Tô Lâm affirmed Việt Nam’s commitment to strengthening and deepening ties with Finland, noting parliamentary cooperation as an effective mechanism for advancing and overseeing intergovernmental agreements.

The Government leader said that upcoming national priorities such as high-tech industries, semiconductor production, national data centres and high-speed rail systems will drive electricity demand sharply, making it urgent to expand power sources.

The Vietnamese leader suggested the two Communist parties continue to enhance exchanges, deepen cooperation, and engage in more meaningful activities through visits and theoretical exchanges.

It is essential to enhance the self-resilience of developing countries through financial and technological support, promoting gender equality, and expanding the participation of small- and medium-sized enterprises in global value chains.

The drafting and promulgation of the amended Law on Public Employees aim to comprehensively reform the recruitment, use, and management of public employees based on positions; create mechanisms for human resources mobility between the public and private sectors; and attract and value high-quality human resources.

The draft consists of six chapters and 43 articles, 19 fewer than the current law. It introduces new provisions to encourage and protect public employees who demonstrate creativity, proactiveness, boldness, and accountability for the common good.

It sets a target that by November 15, 2025, no fishing vessel will lose VMS connection for over six hours without reporting, or for over ten days without returning to port, and no vessel will cross designated maritime boundaries.
