HÀ NỘI — Millon Việt Nam under the French Millon Auction House will be the first European auction house representative office in Việt Nam.

Millon Auction House president Alexandre Millon and Blue Indochine director Hoàng Duy Cương signed a comprehensive co-operation agreement to set up Millon Việt Nam.

The representative office Millon Việt Nam will co-ordinate with Viet Art View in artworks consultation, communication and other areas related to artistic activities. Lạc Việt Auction Partnership will advise on all legal issues for Millon Việt Nam's auction activities.

Millon Auction House is one of the oldest and most reputable companies in the world. Established in 1928 in France, with over 90 years of experience, the house has successfully held thousands of auctions and become a prestigious destination for the finest works of art, as well as valuable collections.

"Over the past years, Millon Auction House has paid strong attention to the Vietnamese art market," Millon said at the signing ceremony in Hà Nội on April 19. "After the house and Vietnamese partners co-operated closely to repatriate the Golden Seal, we have done much research and have practical access to the Vietnamese art market."

In addition to its strength in antiques and rare artefacts, the house has brought to market valuable works by Vietnamese artists and by French professors, created on themes of Việt Nam.

In 2021, Millon successfully auctioned the lacquer work Landscape of Cambodian Phnom Penh by artist Lê Quốc Lộc for more than 1.2 million euros. In addition, valuable works by Phạm Hậu, Lê Phổ, Vũ Cao Đàm, Mai Trung Thứ and others have been auctioned at high prices. — VNS
