HÀ NỘI -- Vietnamese fighters will take part in the 11th Southeast Asian Karate Federation Championship on April 22-27 in Thailand.

The 16-strong team, which gathers the best competitors who won gold, silver and bronzes from the 19th Asian Games in China last September, targets the top place in the medal tally.

Among them, trio Nguyễn Ngọc Trâm, Nguyễn Thị Phương and Lưu Thị Thu Uyên will defend their title in the women's team kata (performance) event.

Former world champion Nguyễn Thị Ngoan will fight in the women's 61kg kumite (combat) while her younger sister, a rising star, Nguyễn Thị Diệu Ly will compete in the women's 53kg.

Asian Games bronze medallist Đinh Thị Hương will combat in the women's 68kg.
