-President Vo Van Thuong attended a ceremony in Bac Ninh city, the northern province of Bac Ninh to mark the 60th anniversary of the "A Thousand of Good Deeds" movement and honour outstanding figures in the field.
The event, jointly organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union's Central Committee, the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children's Union and the provincial People's Committee, drew 263 delegates representing 1,000 outstanding children who showed good deeds in 2023.Read full text

-National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue held a working session with the standing board of the Party Committee of the south central province of Binh Thuan on March 26, during which he congratulated the province on successfully holding the opening of the National Tourism Year themed “Binh Thuan – Green Convergence” a day earlier.
Noting that Binh Thuan is referred to as a "transportation hub" that connects the north central and central coastal regions with the southern key economic region, Chairman Hue said with existing potential and advantages as well as socio-economic achievements in recent years, Binh Thuan will have all the important conditions to make a strong breakthrough when the eastern section of the north-south expressway is open to traffic and Phan Thiet airport is put into operation.Read full text

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening of the fifth National Startup Festival for students in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue's Hue city on March 25.
Expressing his delight at the high startup spirit and aspirations of students, PM Chinh said that startup and innovation is an important resource for each country, especially during the era of globalisation, international integration and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.Read full text

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the central province of Thua Thien-Hue to strive to become a major cultural and tourism hub with distinctive features, considering that the province holds ample development potential, especially in marine-based economy and cultural-historical-ecological tourism.
He made the request during a working session with the standing board of the provincial Party Committee on March 25, as part of his working trip to the province to attend the fifth National Start-up Festival for students.Read full text

-The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) organized a ceremony in Hanoi on March 25 to mark 52 years of the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Chile.
In her opening speech, VUFO President, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, highlighted major milestones in the Vietnam – Chile relations, and expressed her belief in the bright prospects of bilateral ties in the future.Read full text

- Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil and Guyana Pham Thi Kim Hoa recently presented credentials to President of Guyana Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
At a reception for the diplomat, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali said he hopes Vietnam will assist Guyana in agriculture, animal husbandry and cultivation.Read full text

-Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai has expressed wish to boost ties between Mexico and Vietnam, and between Mexico and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, stressing that the city always welcomes Mexican delegations and offers all possible support for Mexican enterprises.
Meeting Politburo member of the Mexican Labour Party (PT) and Chairman of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies’ Committee on Foreign Affairs Alfredo Femat Bañuelos during his ongoing working trip to the Latin American country from March 22-27, Hai said the Party organisation of HCM City wishes to contribute to maintaining and bolstering fine relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the PT.Read full text

-Vietnam exported 7,420 tonnes of coffee worth 18.77 million USD to the Netherlands in the first two months of the year, up 93.1% in volume and 105.7% in value year on year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
The average export price of Vietnamese coffee to the market also rose by 5.7% to 2,517 USD per tonne from one year ago.Read full text

-Vietnam recorded 64 COVID-19 cases in the week from March 21-25, raising the total number of cases from the start of the pandemic to 11,527,203.
As of March 25 evening, 10,614,899 COVID-19 patients have recovered. Only one patient is receiving breathing support, and no fatality was recorded in the past week.Read full text

-With lights turned off for one hour starting 8:30 pm on March 25 in response to the 2023 Earth Hour campaign, Vietnam saved 298,000 kWh of electricity equivalent to about 555.6 million VND (23,617 USD), according to the Vietnam Electricity (EVN)’s National Load Dispatch Center.

-A sapling marcotted from a 2,300-year-old Bodhi tree (also known as sacred fig with the scientific name of Ficus religiosa), the oldest of its species in the world, has been planted at the Bai Dinh pagoda in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

-A ceremony to welcome the first direct flight from Narita airport in Tokyo (Japan) to Da Nang after a long suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic was held by the national carrier Vietnam Airlines in the central beach city on March 26.

-Malta-flagged cruise ship Mein Schiff 5 docked at Ha Long international port in the northern province of Quang Ninh province on March 26, carrying 2,191 European visitors to the locality.
