- The Vietnamese Party and State always prioritise the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha told Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam Rana Flowers during a reception in Hanoi on March 9. Read full story

- Leaders of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on March 9 had a working session with a delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) led by its Administrator Samantha Power, during which the two sides discussed collaboration in climate change response and how to support people affected by the natural phenomenon. - The Government Committee for Religious Affairs released the white book on religions and religious policies in Vietnam at a conference held by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications in Hanoi on March 9.

The 132-page book consists of three chapters that provides introduction to basic information about religions in Vietnam, its religious policies as well as achievements, challenges and advantages in ensuring the right to freedom of belief and religion. Read full story

- Vietnam is emerging as a popular market in which Singaporean companies are interested in seeking opportunities to promote trade and investment, heard a conference on trade connection between the two countries in Ho Chi Minh City on March 9.

The event was jointly hosted by the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) of HCM City, the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI). Read full story

- The index of industrial production (IIP) of the northern port city of Hai Phong is expected to grow by 13.5 – 14.5% per year, towards increasing the proportion of the manufacturing industry in GRDP to 46%.

- Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to revolutionise economies, and Vietnam is well-positioned to reap the benefits and emerge a leader – both development and application, highlighted an article run at intelligent global legal research platform Lexology.com.

According to the article, the Vietnamese government is taking steps to support the development of AI, with initiatives that foster innovation and entrepreneurship. The government is investing in research and development, providing tax incentives for companies that adopt AI technology, and supporting the growth of the startup ecosystem, it noted.
