Việt Nam registers record 162,435 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam confirmed a record 162,435 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, taking the national caseload to 4,776,873 since the start of the pandemic.

Hà Nội continued to have the highest number of new COVID cases with 32,650.

Twenty of the new nationwide transmissions were imported and the remaining domestic. The new cases were reported in 62 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.

A total of 104,353 infections were detected in the community.

The other localities that reported new cases were Nghệ An (15,292), Bắc Ninh (10,731), Phú Thọ (4,882), Sơn La (4,368), Hưng Yên (4,014), Hòa Bình (3,878), Hải Phòng (3,871), Nam Định (3,839), Hải Dương (3,676), Cà Mau (3,428), Tuyên Quang (3,298), Lạng Sơn (3,224), Bình Dương (3,131), Vĩnh Phúc (2,926), Quảng Ninh (2,906), Đắk Lắk (2,818), Điện Biên (2,808), Thái Nguyên (2,746), Lào Cai (2,715), Bắc Giang (2,697), Ninh Bình (2,605), Thái Bình (2,468), Hà Nam (2,385), Cao Bằng (2,364), Khánh Hòa (2,359), Hà Giang (2,150), Yên Bái (2,089), Quảng Bình (2,077), Lai Châu (1,980), Bình Phước (1,979), Đà Nẵng (1,905), Bình Định (1,864), Quảng Trị (1,514), HCM City (1,500), Lâm Đồng (1,315), Thanh Hóa (1,284), Tây Ninh (1,166), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1,062), Đắk Nông (889), Hà Tĩnh (848), Trà Vinh (836), Bến Tre (827), Phú Yên (807), Bình Thuận (716), Vĩnh Long (627), Quảng Ngãi (513), Kon Tum (357), Quảng Nam (327), Bạc Liêu (316), Bắc Kạn (307), Thừa Thiên Huế (262), Đồng Nai (184), Cần Thơ (180), Kiên Giang (131), Long An (130), An Giang (54), Đồng Tháp (47), Sóc Trăng (44), Ninh Thuận (27), Hậu Giang (17) and Tiền Giang (5).

An additional 70,902 patients were declared recovered, with 2,789,342 people given the all-clear in the country since the start of the pandemic.

Eighty-six fatalities related to COVID-19 were reported on Tuesday in HCM City (2), Hải Dương (7), Bắc Giang (6), Bình Định (6), Đà Nẵng (4), Hà Giang (4), Hà Nội (4), Hòa Bình (4), Nam Định (4), Quảng Ninh (4), Kiên Giang (3), Ninh Bình (3), Phú Thọ (3), Phú Yên (3), Quảng Bình (3), An Giang (2), Bạc Liêu (2), Đắk Lắk (2), Gia Lai (2), Hà Tĩnh (2), Nghệ An (2), Quảng Trị (2), Thanh Hóa (2), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1), Bắc Kạn (1), Bình Phước (1), Cà Mau (1), Cao Bằng (1), Điện Biên (1), Khánh Hòa (1), Lâm Đồng (1), Lạng Sơn (1) and Yên Bái (1).
