Berlin (VNA) Germany’s experience in implementing the 4th Industrial Revolution was shared with Vietnam during a workshop held by the Vietnamese Embassy in German on April 23.

The event was held in the framework of the Embassy Day Asia-Pacific, which is part of activities within the Asia Pacific Week in Berlin (APW) 2018 opened in Berlin on the same day.

Themed “Startups in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution: Experience from Germany and lessons for Vietnam”, the workshop drew many experts, scholars, and representatives from Germany’s enterprises, who gave valuable suggestion and advices for Vietnam on how to gain successes in the new field.

Participants to APW 2018 focused their discussion on digitalisation, which is an overwhelming trend in the 21st century.

Initiated in 1997 and annually held from 2015, APW is a forum for countries in Asia Pacific and Germany to discuss important topics, from economy, politics, to science research, and socio-culture.

Digitalization, with the focus being the 4th Industrial Revolution, is impacting on and spreading to all areas of life. In 2017, as the chair of the group of 20 developing nations (G20), Germany had made digitisation a focus in the agenda of the group.

Digitalization creates great opportunities, but it also comes with many challenges.

Through APW 2018, Germany wants to discuss the issue with its partners in Asia-Pacific, which is considered the most dynamic development area in the world, thus seeking better cooperation opportunities among parties in this new field.-VNA
