HCM CITY — Travel firms in HCM City are offering a wide range of outbound and domestic tours including to many new destinations with attractive promotions during the upcoming summer holiday.

Vietravel is focusing on tours to beaches and islands in the country and abroad, which are expected to be very popular this summer.

The firm expects to serve 300,000 customers, a year-on-year increase of 15 per cent, Trần Đoàn Thế Duy, its deputy general director, said.

Around 30,000 free & easy tours would be sold to meet the rising demand during the summer holidays, he said.

Tours to stunning beaches in the central cities of Nha Trang and Đà Nẵng and provinces of Bình Định and Phú Yên and island tours to Phú Quốc and Côn Đảo are expected to be very popular.

Despite the rise in oil prices and air fares, tour prices are steady since the firm made plans at the end of last year to ensure good prices for customers, he said.

Booking early could fetch a 20 per cent discount, he added.

Saigontourist offers discounts on three-day tour packages to Phú Quốc Island that cost only VNĐ 3.57 million (US$156).

The firm offers a 5 per cent discount for booking two months prior to departure and 7 per cent discount for group bookings for four guests or more.

Trần Thị Bảo Thu, marketing and communications director of Fiditour, said the demand for free & easy tours has risen strongly among young travellers and overseas Vietnamese visiting the country during the holidays.

The free & easy tours are designed for small group of tourists and individuals who prefer to make their own schedules and services.
