Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese students bagged four medals at the 32nd International Olympiad in Informatics, the Ministry of Education and Training has announced.

Bui Hong Duc, a 12th grader from the High School for Gifted Students at the Hanoi University of Science, Vietnam National University, clinched a gold medal and ranked 11th overall at the competition.

Meanwhile, Vu Hoang Kien and Le Quang Huy from the same school both picked up silvers.

Tran Quang Thanh, a 12th grader from the High School for Gifted Students at the Hanoi National University of Education, won a bronze.

The contest was held online on September 13-23 and was the first time Vietnamese students had competed online.

In other recent competitions, Vietnamese students won a gold, a silver, and two bronze medals at the European Physics Olympiad, and a gold, four silvers, and a bronze at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

They also claimed three medals at the International Biology Olympiad and triumphed at the International Chemistry Olympiad, with four golds./.
