Tenth person in Việt Nam dies of COVID-19 complications

Việt Nam confirmed the tenth COVID-19 related fatality on Thursday afternoon, second in a day.

ĐÀ NẴNG — Việt Nam confirmed the tenth COVID-19 related fatality on Thursday afternoon.

The latest casualty is a 67-year-old woman from Cẩm Lệ District, central Đà Nẵng City, Việt Nam's current coronavirus epicentre with multiple cases found that were linked to hospitals here.

The cause of death was announced to be myeloma, diabetes type 2, sepsis and COVID-19.

At 7pm on August 3, the patient was taken to the emergency room at the Department of Neurology, Đà Nẵng Hospital on suspicion of COVID-19 infection.

She was transferred to the quarantine zone at the hospital’s Department of Tropical Medicine at 9pm the same day.

On August 4, she tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Doctors indicated intubation and venous dialysis.

At 6pm on August 5, she suffered from purple-coloured varicose veins, abnormal heart rate and low blood pressure.

She died at 6.50pm the same day. — VNS
