Hai Phong (VNA) – A set of 100 ceramic floor vases featuring Vietnam’s traditional patterns created by artisan Pham Van Tuyen - Venerable Thich Chanh Tinh, has received an entry in the Vietnam Book of Records.

A ceremony to announce the honour was held in the northern port city of Hai Phong on October 6.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Record Association Tran Chien Thang noted that the set contributes to promoting Vietnam’s culture, as well as creative and humanity values. 

Artisan Pham Van Tuyen - Venerable Thich Chanh Tinh said he and his associates made the vases in two months, using ceramic glaze in the style of historical period between the Early Le dynasty (1428–1527) and the Mac dynasty (1527–1677).

The collection introduces and honours ceramic products and Vietnamese traditional pottery in particular, thus preserving values of traditional pottery villages, said Director of Hai Phong’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Van Quy.-VNA
