Hai Phong (VNA) – The UK Royal Navy’s survey vessel HMS Enterprise arrived at Tan Vu port in the northern city of Hai Phong on February 19, beginning a week-long visit to Vietnam.

The visit takes place on the occasion of the UK and Vietnam celebrating the 10th anniversary of bilateral strategic partnership, with security and defence an important cooperation field.

It offers a good chance for both sides to intensify collaboration in hydrographic affairs and tighten connectivity between the two navies.

Captain Cecil Ladislaus said that the visit to the Asia-Pacific region would be an opportunity for the ship crew to coordinate with partners in conducting maritime security patrols, thus helping manifest the UK’s commitment to maintaining navigation freedom.

During their stay in Vietnam, HMS Enterprise crew will pay courtesy visits to leaders of the municipal People’s Committee and the Naval Command.

They will leave Hai Phong for other destinations on February 25./.
