HÀ NỘI The 10th ASEAN Paragames in the Philippines would be delayed due to lack of funding, according to the ASEAN Para Sports Federation (APSF).

The APSF said the Games budget and disbursement of funding from the Philippines Sports Commission (PSC) to the Philippines ASEAN Para Games Organising Committee (PHILAPGOC) had left them no alternative but to postpone the Games.

The Games were originally scheduled from January 18 to 24, but will now be held from March 20-28.

The APSF will continue to provide assistance to ensure the Games run smoothly and successfully.

The 10th Games is expected to see a total of 1533 athletes and 829 officials from 11 nations taking part in events in New Clark City, Subic and Manila.

Việt Nam will send a 134-strong contingent to the event. They will compete in athletics, chess, swimming, powerlifting, table tennis, badminton, judo and boccia.

At the previous Games in Malaysia, Việt Nam finished fourth overall, winning 40 gold, 60 silver and 61 bronze medals. They also set 11 records. VNS
